Like Mother, Like Daughter

Hannah was born April 2008. That small midget doesn't look like me at all LOL but now that she's almost 2 years old, I see a lot of similarities from the both of us.

Physical features - we are both chinita and morena. She got her built from me too. We have wavy black hair and similar lips.

Attitude - we are both impatient at times, stubborn and childlike LOL. We are persistent and hard working and sweet like a candy.

Personality - here we are very different because she's outgoing and friendly while I'm an introvert.

Mannerism - we almost talk alike, soft and sweet voice. We each have tube pillows that we hug everynight. Cant sleep without it.

These are a few of our common traits that I find very fascinating as a mother. I always thought that she is so different from me but now, I just feel closer with her since we enjoy the same things and we love being together.

Here is a layout that was inspired by all of this:

Photobucket

Patterned Papers: Making Memories Love Struck Flocked Ledger, Diecut Stamp, Valentine Tag, Be Mine Stripe, Newsprint heart, Heart Vine, Pattern Heart
Alpha: American Crafts Thickers Lullaby and Delight
Brads: Making Memories

Photobucket

I adore this line from Making Memories. I love the variations of patterned papers, the cute embellishments and the endless ideas that has inspire me to create more pages. And don't you just love all those hearts?!

Pencil Lines Sketch!

Happy Monday to all of you!

I am really happy that I am designing for My Scrapbook Nook. The camaraderie in the Nook community is amazing. I have lots of talented friends around the world and the opportunity of working with the newest products is ecstatic.

This month, we were given the opportunity to guest design for Pencil Lines. With the amazing help of my fellow DT, Zarah, we were given sketches by the founder of Pencil Lines, Anna Bowkis. We were so excited for this opportunity and was so curious about how we interpret the sketch individually. Finally today, the 1st part was revealed at Pencil Lines as Sketch 175.

The interpretation on this sketch is endless. We love the idea that it looks simple but we can create a detailed masterpiece by just playing around it. Please join us with this sketch and feel free to check out my other team's amazing works with the DT ladies from Pencil Lines by clicking here.

Here is my take to Sketch 175:

For this layout, I have used the amazingly gorgeous Nook February Kit featuring BasicGrey's Origins Collection with add-ons from the Nook Online Store. I can't get enough of this kit that is why I have ordered another one. So get yours now! Click here.

Hold On, Even If

Sharing a layout that was published this month at ScrapStreet.com

Supplies: Paper, Chipboard, Rub-Ons, Die-Cuts: Pink Paislee, Alphabet: Making Memories, Pink Paislee, Other: flower, ribbon, brad, metal frame.

Design Notes: I have always have a hard time writing my own poems that is why I rarely use it as my journaling, but with the instant poetry forms found online, it was as easy as 123. The HOLD ON poem form was my favorite.

Journaling: Hold on to your dreams, even if it feels impossible. Hold on to your hopes, even if the odds are all against you. Hold on to your values, even if the world is changing. Hold on to your love, even when others have given up on it. Hold on to YOU

Being Me

Upon entering scrapbooking, one of my goal is to learn more about myself as I scrap about me. I admit that as years goes by, there are still a lot of things that I am discovering about my own qualities. That is why I love this hobby so much.

Just want to share this layout that I did using My Scrapbook Nook's gorgeous February kit. I have also used Shimmerz paints:

Photobucket

Background Paper: Watercolor paper
Patterned Papers: Basic Grey Origins
Alpha: Basic Grey Chip Alphabets and Bella Blvd
Paint: Shimmerz, Spritz and Blingz
Chipboard: Basic Grey Origins Chip Stickers
Stickers: Basic Grey Origins Element Stickers
Flowers: Prima Marketing Hydrangeas
Others: buttons from my stash and Basic Grey Memo pad journaling spot

Photobucket

I discovered lately that I am enjoying painting on my layout after trying out Shimmerz the very first time. The background was sprayed with Shimmerz Spritz, some Blingz and Shimmerz. Stay tuned for the step by step instructions at the Shimmerz blog late this month.

Photobucket

I love, love this hydrangeas flowers. They are just so cute. This came from my stash and I have all colors of this flower from Prima.

Photobucket

I also used the packaging of BasicGrey's Origins journaling spots. I just love the design of the flower on it. I think it looks perfect for the overall design of this page.

All About Hannah

Good day!

I adore Pink Paislee and I just can't get enough of it. So while waiting for their new releases to hit the stores, I purchased some Pink Paislee Amber Road patterned papers from YourScrapbookStash and made a layout about Hannah. On this layout, my journaling was about my DD's likes and dislikes, her characteristics, her traits, and her personality. I have been planning to create this subject for months, and this is the best time since she's turning two on April.

Photobucket

Cardstock: Bazzill Kraft
Patterned Papers: Pink Paislee Amber Road
Alpha: Pink Paislee's Chipboard Expressions and Cardstock Expressions
Flower: Prima Gallery Rose Quillen
Paint: Shimmerz VIBEZ and Blingz
Others: chipboard, distress ink, butterfly punch

Photobucket

I just love how this layout turned out. Even though it's simple, the focus was the photo and the journaling which was my original plan. I love how the papers brought out the photo and how the title popped out.

Thanks for dropping by! Will try my best to visit your blogs one of this days. I am just busy for the past few weeks.

According to Hannah...it's "BABAFLY"

Photobucket

For today I would like to share to you a layout that I did using My Scrapbook Nook's gorgeous February Kit. It is a layout inspired by my baby girl.

I usually start my layout with the papers and the photographs. I layout everything before I even think of a title and/or journaling. For this particular page, I was doing some butterfly templates and a 3-dimensional butterfly for my design when Hannah said "Babafly" I was surprised and proud of course because she had just said a 3 syllable word. I immediately thought that it will be an amazing title for the layout I was doing. This is definitely something worth remembering.

Photobucket

I created some butterfly silhouettes by using templates that I did in Photoshop with some Shimmerz products. I used a combination of Treasured Hymn, Tuscan Sun and Sea Foam Spritz.

Then using the same butterfly templates, I made a 3 dimensional butterfly and sprayed it with Shimmerz Vibez's Sunset Strip and painted some parts with Golden Wheat Shimmerz.

I really enjoyed using my February Kit and all its add-ons. The vibrant colors made everything so alive and so happy. I would definitely get one again.

TEARS

As of the moment my dear Hannah is really sick. She's been having a high fever for the past dew days and has been vomiting every time she tries to consume anything. Poor baby. Usually during this time I make sure that she drinks plenty of water and I need to make sure that her temperature will not get any higher than 39C (102.2f) but today her fever is still at 39.5C (103F) taken from her armpit and I know its really high, she also doesnt want to drink any liquid because of the vomiting. I might need to bring her to the hospital when DH arrives home from work.

It is really sad when this things happen to our little ones. We just wish we were the one sick not them. I just pray that she will feel better soon. I really felt guilty because just the other day, while she was playing, I kinda irritated her to pose for me several times so that I can get a shot that I can use for a page that I am planning. It turned out, I was able to get a shot that I was not expecting, Hannah crying because of me.

Here is my layout:

Photobucket

I have used My Scrapbook Nook's February kit featuring BasicGrey's Origins and some Prima Marketing flowers and leaf from my stash.

Photobucket

I initially sprayed some VIBEZ Sunset Strip on my main background paper to add shimmer to it. Then using a paintbrush, I opened the lid of my VIBEZ and dip my paintbrush on it and painted the scalloped area of the BG journaling spot. I love the shine it gives to it! Also, I handstitched the swirls on my layout. Phew!

Photobucket

The flowers are cream Prima Hydrangeas but with VIBEZ Sunset Strip, the flowers are now perfect for my color combination. With just a little spray, I was able to get an intense color orange that added shimmer to it. You should try it!

Photobucket

This is a white skeleton leaf from Prima which was from my stash. Using a medicine dropper, I added VIBEZ Sunset Strip. I tilted the leaf on all sides to spread the color. Once it dried, I also added Shimmerz Golden Wheats to the outline of the leaf.

I really enjoyed using my Nook February kit with the new Shimmerz VIBEZ. I love the paper and the embellishment combination that Leah did with the kit. I'm surely going to order another one!

So what are you waiting for? Order your Nook Kits NOW!!! Remember, this kit is available at My Scrapbook Nook. And remember, if you avail of our subscription, you'll get these kits for only $28 monthly. Avail of our 12months subscription and you'll get your 13th month kit for FREE. So hurry up! Sign up now! Crop Addict's February Kit!!!

Happy Monday and Happy 1st of February!!!

What a great day to start the week and this month, I was able to do 4 layouts earlier using the February kit from CropAddict. Yup you read it right, 4!!! This was actually the first time I was able to do 4 layouts in a day and I am so pleased. of course that would not be possible if I have my 1 year old goofing around me LOL. She's at my parents house for 2 days. YAY!

Anyway, I just want to share to you how amazing the February Kit is from CropAddict. It is jam-packed with goodies from BoBunny, Heidi Grace and Little Yellow Bicycle. The value of this kit is $48 but our price is $32 because of a lot of bonus add-ons.

Our February Always & Forever monthly scrapbook kit features 12 stunning double sided papers from BoBunny's Flutter Butter Collection and Heidi Grace Frost Blvd Collection. 2 Die Cut papers and 6 sheets of coordinating Bazzill cardstock, including 1 sheet of Bazzill Bling are included. Embellishments include Scenic Route Alphabet letters, Little Yellow Bicycle Lace Paper, Heidi Grace Flocked Paper, Heidi Grace Glitter Paper, coasters, other coordination embellishments, and beautiful ribbon from May Arts.

BONUS EXTRAS include 7 Gypsies Two Way Album, My Little Shoebox mini alphabet stickers, Die Cuts with a View flocked papers, chipboard, and 6 1/2 sheets of Little Yellow Bicycle valentine paper.

To get the full list, click here!

You will truly fall in love with this amazing kit. The BoBunny Flutter Butter is perfect for everyday pictures, the Heidi grace Frost Blvd is perfect for winter pictures and the Little Yellow Bicycle is perfect for Valentines pictures. Simply AMAZING.

Here are a few layouts that I did using the CA February kit:

Baby@WORK

Photobucket

Here was Hannah mimicking my work. She's just so adorable when she do this.

Patterned Papers: BoBunny's Flutter Butter
Brads: BoBunny's Flutter Butter
Stickers: BoBunny Flutter Butter
Alpha: Scenic Route and My Little Shoebox Mini Alphabet Stickers
Frame: K&Co Life’s Journeys Oval Brass Frameups
Snaps: WeR Memory Keepers Extra Large Square Snaps
Others: Imagination Project Calendar Jumbles, Ranger Distress Inkpads and Fiskar border punch

Photobucket

The flowers were cutout from the BoBunny patterned papers. I crumbled the cutouts, sand the edges and inked it using some distress inkpads by Ranger.

POP.Corn

Photobucket

Once she pops she cant stop! LOL that was mainly the scenario on this photos. This was her first time eating a caramelized popcorn that we bought at the mall, I think the flavor was White Chocolate Walnut popcorn. She was in heaven and doesn't want to stop.

Cardstock: Bazzill
Patterned Papers: BoBunny's Flutter Butter
Alpha: Scenic Route and Basic Grey's Chip (from my stash)
Blings: Kaisercraft from my stash
Stickers: BoBunny Flutter Butter
Others: Martha Stewart's Classic Butterfly Punch

Photobucket

So here there are more cutouts LOL I think my layout is not complete without cutouts!

Will post more layouts tomorrow! Thanks for dropping by!
