A few more Nook May Kit Layouts

You all know how much I love BasicGrey collections that is why I am totally in love with My Scrapbook Nook's May kit featuring BG's Hello Luscious line. I have made a total of 6 layouts with the kit and still I have a lot of leftovers.

Here are 2 more layouts that I made using the kit:

In this layout, I concentrated on orange-teal color combo to work with my chosen photo of Hannah taken last year.

Here I was inspired by the stripped designed patterned paper combining the different patterns from the collection

Butterflies

This week's theme at Pebbles blog is "My Favorite Things."  We were asked to create projects either focusing on some of their favorite things (e.g., a favorite photo) or using some of their favorite things (e.g., a product, technique, etc).

One of my favorite things I like to add to my layouts are butterflies. They are great to add dimension and layering to a page. Sometimes, I use butterflies as filler for dead spaces. That is why today I want to showcase my love of butterflies. With the Happy Go Lucky line, butterflies were a perfect touch.

Pebbles supplies used:
Happy Go Lucky Thrilled (751088)
Happy Go Lucky Glee (751082)
Happy Go Lucky Carefree (751083)
Happy Go Lucky Delight (751086)
Happy Go Lucky Dandy (751089)
Happy Go Lucky Embossed Stickers (732036)
Happy Go Lucky Dimensional Stickers (732038)
Happy Go Lucky Flower Brads (747075)
Happy Go Lucky Fabric Brads (747077)
Happy Go Lucky Layered Embellishments (747072)
Happy Go Lucky Toothpick Flags (747067)

Other supplies used:

Cardstock
Chipboard (Maya Road)
Twine
Brads

This layout was also inspired by Nic Howard's latest class at Big Picture Classes "Cluster Embellishing." Love, love that class because I have always been a huge fun of Nic's creations.

VC Challenge #4 at Go Wild Crop

Go Wild w/ PLACEMENT

Are you one of those scrapbookers who's spending a lot of time rearranging all the elements on your page before adhering it? Can't seem to decide how to place everything up?

I am guilty of that! I spend 80% of my time rearranging everything that is why it takes me at least 2 hours to create a layout. So I challenge you, go wild with placement!!!! Do not over think this challenge! Go ahead and start cutting, adhering piece by piece as you go! No more rearranging. Create a layout in less than 45mins. I don't need properly arranged layering. I want to see a fun and free layout!

Finally I was able to use my Crate Paper's stash. Preordered this Portrait collection a few months ago at the Nook and never had the chance to use it due to work and other obligations. Now, I was able to create my 1st layout using this line in less that 40minutes, most of it, doing fuzzy cutting.

Do you want to win the entire collection of Lily Bee's "This & That" and "Happily Lost"? The Go Wild Virtual Crop at My Scrapbook Nook is ongoing!!! You still have 2 more days to catch up with all the fun challenges. Aside from the grand prize, we are giving a way several May kits as random prizes.

a card this Thursday

Getting tired of standard sized cards? Make it fun and tryout different sizes or even shapes! The fun thing about making your own cards is having the freedom to be creative.

Today, I would like to share with you a simple card that I made using the Chapter One collection. Inspired by the vine-like design, I made a vertical card with a measurement of 3.5"x7".  With this size, I was able to portray movement in my card, butterflies flying upward. Try it out!

Card: Chapter One patterned papers Motivate (P670), Paper Pad (PP843), and Coloured Rubons (RB920). Others: butterfly punches and black cardstock.

I have been lazy

These are the days that I feel I wanted to scrapbook more pages but ends up finishing one or two. With all those inspiring challenges online, I just want to jump right in and scrap but I end up in front of the computer staring at many gorgeous works from the different blogs and galleries instead.

I really need the push, the motivation to scrap more layouts. Great thing is we are having an virtual crop at My Scrapbook Nook this week on May 12-15. There will be tons of fun challenges that will surely boost up Mr. Mojo. Hope to see you all there!!!!
