more Emma Shoppe layouts

Hi everyone! Hope all of you are doing fine and enjoying this week. As for me, I have been pretty busy with my new work that is why I barely scrap this week and update my blog regularly. I would also like to take this opportunity to apologize if I wasn't able to visit your blogs lately. I'll make time to do this on Saturday.

Anyway, here are 2 more layouts that I did using My Scrapbook Nook's March kit featuring Crate Paper's Emma Shoppe. This kit is beyond gorgeous and I just wish I have more time to scrap because I can't resist all the papers and embellishments that came with the kit. It's really torturing me but I have been off work for a couple of months and I need to prioritize my new job for now.

Here are my layouts:

the NEW Mr & Mrs collection by Pebbles Inc

This simple, traditional wedding themed line features a black and white color palette, with a touch of silver and vanilla.  Elegant and functional, this collection is perfect for wedding invitations, decorations and documentation of that special day.

I love the elegance of the Mr & Mrs collection. The classic black and white is very sophisticated. With this type of collection, a touch of color can work wonders. Here, instead of using wedding photos, I have used a photo of my Niece. I made a very simple design and added some color rub ons from my stash

Pebbles supplies used:
The Mr. & Mrs. Wedding Bells (751096)
The Mr. & Mrs. Wedding Veil (751103)
The Mr. & Mrs. Wedding Dress(751094)

The Mr. & Mrs. Wedding Cake (751099)

a technique class

Do you know that the NOOK FORUM IS BACK?!!!!!!! Yes we are!!! It was almost a month since it was shutdown due to maintenance and upgrade and I am so excited that it is up again. There are a few more tweaking that needs to be adjusted but it is looking better and better. And for a Nooker addict like me, this has been the day we were waiting for.

To jump-start the launch of the forum, the DTs are currently posting several March classes using the gorgeous March kit. I have posted the technique class and would like everyone to check it out. It is a handmade flower tutorial:

Nook March kit layout

Sorry for not being able to post too much this month, I got a new job and it's taking most of my time, no scrapping too. But I am so grateful for that opportunity, it has been 3 months since I resigned from my previous job so transition of going back to work was quite stressful.

For today, I would like to share with you the first layout that I did using the gorgeous March kit from My Scrapbook Nook featuring Crate Paper's Emma Shoppe. I know you often hear from me how much I adore every single kit that I receive from the Nook, but this one is now my favorite. I love every single item on this kit!

With this layout, I played with my gesso and Shimmerz paint. I love the texture it added to the overall design of my page. I used a palette knife, sponge, as well as an old toothbrush to achieve my background.

Wooden Flourishes

Kaisercraft pioneered these fantastic wooden embellishments. They’re made of super thin plywood that you can use on your scapbook pages, off the page projects, cards and more! Leave them like they are or mist them, paint them, ink them and more!

Here’s just a few of our most popular designs:

FL342 Funky Butterflies

FL335 Mannequins

Using wooden flourishes on layouts and other projects are starting to become a trend at the scrapbook industry. Who can resist these gorgeous embellishments? You can use it raw or add other mediums like paint or sand.

For some part of my wooden flourishes, I have added a dab of crackle paint to add texture to it. I even distressed the edges to enhance the its intricate details.

When you think of birthdays, we think of bright and cheery colours. With the Bubble Gum Hill collection by Kaisercraft, making Birthday cards is fun and easy. Here, I simply layered several elements from the paper pad and printed chipboard to achieve a cute birthday card

LOL

Whenever Hannah and I get bored, we do some role playing. I remember this one time that I drew some mustache on her face so that she can play a role as an Italian  chef.  We had so much fun! She was the chef while I was a customer at her lovely restaurant.

For this layout, I have used Nan's Favourites collection by Kaisercraft. The cooking theme was perfect for this fun memory I was able to capture. Inspired by Kaisercraft's March Sketch Challenge #3, here is my layout:

“Chef Dominique” layout by LG Belarmino - Nan’s Favourites collection: Patterned Papers Shortbread (P610), Lemon Slice (P615), Cherry Tart (P612), Paper Pad (PP836), Die Cut Elements (DC333), and Printed Chipboard (CB121); Timeless patterned paper (p655), Wood Flourish Hanging Plaque (FL334), Alpha Stickers (A224), Tiny Alpha Stickers Black (MA513) and Fork, Knife, Spoon Wood Flourish (FL343).

Here are some photos:

I can't wait to scrap these photos of my Hannah! They will be perfect for a lot of new CHA releases. Have a great weekend everyone!

Nan's Favourites

This month at Kaisercraft blog, we are showcasing the 2 newest March collections. The Nan’s Favourites collection is perfect for documenting your little chefs, recipes, and all those food related ideas. The great thing about Kaisercraft’s collections is that they are all so versatile!  The double-sided patterns from each patterned papers gives you an option to maintain the original theme of the collection or just use regular everyday photos.

In this layout, I avoided the kitchen related patterns and just concentrated on subtle colour combination of teal and yellow. This palette is perfect for the black and white photo of Hannah and her cousin (taken one Saturday afternoon last January).

“Beautiful Friendship” layout by LG Belarmino – Nan’s Favourites Collection: Marmalade patterned paper (P613), Lamington Specialty Diecut (PS133), Paper Pad (PP836), Recipe Cards (EM956), Die Cut Elements (DC333), and Mini Journal Tags (JT613); B/W Rub-on Friendship (RB918), Ice Green pearls (SB784), Wood Flourish Vines (FL303), and Paper Blooms Sunset (F634).

Others: cloud rub-ons and leaves

March Crate Paper Color Challenge

It is not often that I get to participate on blog challenges with all my DT assignments but who can resist this month's color challenge at Crate Paper. The combination is awesome (yellow, gray and kraft)! I did not enter this challenge to win since I ordered their newest collection already at My Scrapbook Nook. I am just so inspired with the color combo.

To achieve this color palette, I have used Crate's Restoration line with one of their classic line, Prudence. The Prudence collection is a combination of teal and gray. I just love the patterns and design of those gray papers and embellishments. Check out this gorgeous old collection here.

The white-gray butterflies here were cutouts from a Kaisercraft wooden flourish packaging. The small yellow circle heart chipboard stickers are by American Craft's Dear Lizzy line. The alpha chip stickers are by My Little Shoebox.

My Little Pony

When I was a kid, I have a small collection of My Little Pony. I remember watching this cartoons daily in our local channel. I love their long colorful tails, their adorable tattoos, and their cute names. Got my first pony one Christmas eve from my parents.

Last January, while shopping at the mall, we saw this My Little Pony toy section. Hannah was so excited and kept asking that I buy her one. I told her I'll give her first little pony when she turns 4, since she's too young to take care of it (you know toddlers LOL). For the meantime, I was able to take some photographs of her beside a My Little Pony display.

Yesterday, I was able to finish a layout using these photos. I used some My Little Shoebox papers given to me by one of my dearest friend Taj White (Thanks Taj!). This is my first ever MLS layout and I am so happy that I was able to play with their collection. It is so cute and perfect for cutesy pictures like this.

Inspired by The Scrappiest sketch #110, here is my finished layout:

Nook March Kit!

Not sure with all you Nook subscribers but I can't wait to get my hands on the March kit. It will feature the newest release by Crate Paper, Emma's Shoppe (other embellishments from My Mind's Eye and American Crafts and Webster's Pages). The good news is, it has gone out and it's on their way to your doorsteps.

I know the wait must be driving us crazy but I am definitely sure that it is worth the wait. The first kit right after CHA always tends to take a bit longer because we are waiting for the products delivered to us from the manufacturers. My Scrapbook Nook wants to provide us all with the newest and hottest collection and what is more amazing than Emma's Shoppe. Here's a peak of the kit:
