Love Struck and Shimmerz

What a great day to scrap!

For today I would love to share with you a layout that I did using Making Memories Love Struck line and Shimmerz paints. I am so in love with these two products together and had so much fun doing this layout. The papers and embellishments are all available at YSS store.

Doily: Vintage Papers - Doilies
Flower: Prima Marketing Cherry Blossom Branches Pink
Butterfly: YSS Fabric Butterfly - Brown
Kraft Envelop: Maya Road
Paint: Shimmerz Spritz (Ruby), Blingz (Hottie Pink) and Shimmerz Vibez (Red-y or Not)
Others: InkEssential's Glossy Accent, Gems from my stash, and Colorbox Cranberry inkpad, paper clip from my stash

For my background, I added a few drops of Hottie Pink Blingz and some Glossy Accent. I love the tiny circles that it created.

I also sprayed some Shimmerz Vibez and Spritz on the doily tissue paper. I love the combination Ruby Spritz and Red-y or Not Vibez.


I also painted the hearts using Hottie Pink Blingz to add depth and sparkle to it. It's so cute.

Like Mother, Like Daughter

Hannah was born April 2008. That small midget doesn't look like me at all LOL but now that she's almost 2 years old, I see a lot of similarities from the both of us.

Physical features - we are both chinita and morena. She got her built from me too. We have wavy black hair and similar lips.

Attitude - we are both impatient at times, stubborn and childlike LOL. We are persistent and hard working and sweet like a candy.

Personality - here we are very different because she's outgoing and friendly while I'm an introvert.

Mannerism - we almost talk alike, soft and sweet voice. We each have tube pillows that we hug everynight. Cant sleep without it.

These are a few of our common traits that I find very fascinating as a mother. I always thought that she is so different from me but now, I just feel closer with her since we enjoy the same things and we love being together.

Here is a layout that was inspired by all of this:

21 days to go

before Christmas and we are all excited!!!! Everything is almost done and we are just waiting for that day. In preparation for Christmas, we decided it is time already to let our little girl know who that big guy in a red suit is. She already knows how to identify things, people and places and we believe this it is a sign that she is ready.

We initiated it by making her see and feel Christmas. This is through decorations, greetings, Christmas songs and some photos. Then two days ago, while in the mall, I saw this Santa decoration almost as big as Hannah and decided to introduce him to her (I decided not to introduce a live, huge, Santa because he might scare her). I introduced them normally how people are introduced. Hannah shook its hand and started touching its beard and nose. She kept saying hi Santa, she even kissed it on its nose. So cute.


Unfortunately I do not have my DSLR with me so I wasn't able to take pictures and use it on this layout that I am about to show you. Instead I used a photo of Hannah taken during some Christmas dress fitting last week. I decided to use this photo because her facial expression looks like her being curious.

it's almost Christmas

As my American friends celebrates Thanksgiving yesterday, me and my family were busy preparing for the holidays. Our Christmas tree is up, we are almost done with our Christmas shopping, and everything is just going into place. Oh I love this season so much since it's Hannah's second Christmas.

My Scrapbook Nook's December kit made everything merrier. Seeing the entire kit in person is so awesome. The holiday spirit is definitely in the air now. So, with all this rush and excitement, I was able to create my first ever Christmas themed layout.



REMEMBER THE REASON TO BE JOLLY

Journaling: Ti's the season to be jolly! My daughter's second Christmas is much more meaningful now that the season has finally come again. Her first Christmas was very nice but she is too young to realize or even know what is going on around her. This time around, we are happy to teach her the joy of the season. I'll try my best to show her what Christmas is all about. Its not just about the gifts and toys. Nothing fills us more with happiness than to see the true meaning of Christmas in our child's eye. There is no hint of greed, malice, or even jealousy. It's pure innocence and the joys that come with it. There was once a time when we are happy with just a hug from our parents. Now that we are parents ourselves, it's kind of sad to know that once upon a time, we were simply happy and content. Happy Holiday Hannah!!!

I used the Paper Piecing technique to create the ornaments on my layout. The bird and the plant are transparencies that came with Making Memories journaling pad that was an add-on to my kit. I love that pad so much. The black alpha's are by Prima Marketing that came with the kit.
