My Scrapbook Nook June kit features Lily Bee's Picket Fence line with lovely add ons such as wood accents, ruffles and florals. At first I was intimidated with the soft color palette and the purple patterned papers but once I started, I fell in love with the kit.
Here is the first layout that I finished yesterday:
This is a pretty simple layout. Everything was finished in less than an hour. I was able to use my mists, paints and stamps to achieve this look.
The banner wood accent was initially painted with purple and teal acrylic paint. Once dried, I stamped over it with some scripted text using a white inkpad. Love the effect!
I also managed to use a stencil template that I purchased from a car accessory store for $2. I applied 3 different colors of Shimmerz mist and a few droplets using the same colors.
The kit also came with these gorgeous Webster Pages Doilies. By simply adding a brad in the center and a few pearls, I was able to add detail and depth to my page. The Petaloo paper flowers were also chalked in the middle to add color. I learned this chalking technique from Hilde. you can view her class here.
