OUAS December 1st Challenge is up!

Journalling Criteria/theme: The thing I look most forward to in December.

Write at least 2 sentences on what you look forward to in the next month. December is a festive month so your journalling could be about the Christmas season, the holidays, the presents or if you do not celebrate Christmas what does December bring for you that you look most forward to? Note:You layout DOES NOT have to be about Christmas! It can be about anything December brings.

Other ideas for journalling: an annual holiday or celebration, a specific event such as putting up the Christmas tree or pre Christmas traditions you might have leading up to Christmas, family time, snow covered fields or warmer weather, time off work, school holidays, change of weather, new season fruit.

The winner of this challenge, as chosen by the Design Team, will win a spot on our Design Team for the month of January. As well as that, the winner will also receive a AUD$20.00 voucher (plus FREE shipping) to spend in the store at Handmade By Suzanne!

a November Nook kit layout

The holidays is coming and I am sure a lot of us are busy nowadays planning meals, gifts, and reunions. I have been quite busy with work and all the holiday planning that is why I don't scrap as much as I do before. That is why when I have some free time, I take advantage  of it.

Here is a layout that I first did using the November Nook Kit:

close up

I love this photo of my daughter and my nephew. I remember this day as if it was yesterday because we had so much fun. We went out of town to spend time with my sisters and her kids. I was able to capture a lot of photos to remember that day:

I cant wait to spend more time with my sisters this holiday season.

Little Black Dress plus 1

I am loving the classy look of BasicGrey's Little Black Dress Collection. They are amazing with vintage and wedding photos. At first look, I thought I can't use my Hannah's playful photos with this line but by simply adding one color, it made everything work. I chose the color blue as my plus one color. I always love the idea of using the main focal color in the photos to my design to make everything cohesive. You should try it!

Love these photos of Hannah! We were at Nuvali and she enjoyed herself too much. She was like rolling around like crazy, being free. Oh I love being a kid, you have no worries and no problems.

OUAS November 15 Challenge is up! Using Little Black Dress

November 15th Challenge

Journalling criteria: This time the journalling criteria focuses on YOU as a woman OR ANY female in your life. What is the best thing about being a woman? Motherhood? Shopping? Make Up? Girls nights? Gossip? Your journalling can be as long as you wish and in any language, but you must journal at least 2 sentences on the best part of being a woman.

You must combine the journalling criteria with this sketch..
Here is my take:

SUPPLIES : [LITTLE BLACK DRESS] LBD-3486 Drama Mod, LBD-3482 Foxy Posh, LBD-3480 Etiquette, LBD-3494 6x6 Paper Pad, LBD-3495 Element Stickers, LBD-3497 Titles Stickers

LBD_Ad_967x487

Here I have used one of BasicGrey's recent collection Little Black Dress. The patterns and color of this line is very classy and works perfectly with black and white photos. And the heart title sticker is perfect for the theme of this challenge. Love is the ultimate trait a woman have.

A Special Day for a Very Special Person

Today we celebrate the birthday of a remarkable woman that I have known for over 2 years. She inspire and motivates me both in my life and scrapbooking. She is the backbone of the Nook for the longest time I can remember. Not only does she continuously assist the DTs at My Scrapbook Nook, she does most work in the back-end combining kits, assisting the owner, marketing and a lot of other responsibilities.

She is Leah Killian, celebrating her birthday today!

 Leah,

In your special day, I pray that you'll be continuously blessed with a loving family, true friends, good health, and more success in your career. You have touched so many lives in so many ways. God is so good for creating such a wonderful person that shares His words and inspires others.

Thank you for allowing me to be part of the Nook DT. I have never imagined that it will be my online home. Working with you in the Nook DT for the last 2 years made me feel so blessed to have a leader who I can look up too and motivates me to do my best.

HAPPY, HAPPY, HAPPY BIRTHDAY LEAH!!!!

To everyone, let's all drop by at Leah's blog to greet her on her special day.

I am LG Belarmino, scrappbooker from the Philippines. I am honoured to be part of My Scrapbook Nook's Design Team for the last 6 terms (more than 2.5 years). I have a Bachelors Degree in Fine Arts Major in Advertising Design. I am married to my very supportive husband, Regie for 4 years now and a mother to a gorgeous 3 year old baby girl, Hannah, my precious model. I started started this hobby December 2008, a few months after I gave birth to my daughter. I decided to enter into scrapbooking to preserve my family's memories and to express my creative side.

My style differs from one layout to the other. I love experimenting and trying out new techniques as I create a page. I am into handcutting, misting, distressing, photo editing and layering.

A layout made using my remaining September Nook kit and add ons. I have combined both Crate Paper's Random (featured on Sept kit) and Farmhouse collection.

Aside from scrapbooking, I love photography, sketching and painting. My favorite paper lines are My Minds Eye, Crate Paper, BasicGrey, Pink Paislee, October Afternoon and Cosmo Cricket. Aside from the Nook DT, I am currently designing for BasicGrey, Cosmo Cricket, and Once Upon a Sketch.
