something different

Finally I received my February Nook kit yesterday and it's beyond gorgeous. You can stare on it forever and just sigh. The Webster Pages Hollywood Vogue is so pretty. I love the patterns, the colors and all the embellishments and add on that came with the kit.

But I really don't do Websters, it's not my style. Anything that is too pretty or too cute is intimidating to me. I love to look and collect them but not actually use it. Creating something from this kit will be quite different from what I usually do.

Here is the 1st layout that I finished using the Nook February kit:

"Dream" layout by LG Belarmino - My Scrapbook Nook February Kit featuring Webster Pages Hollywood Vogue line: Webster's Pages Hollywood Vogue Papers, Phrase Stickers, and WP Floral Peacock Bouquet; Add-on for Feb kit and previous kits: WP Petite Papers, Pink Paislee Artisan Elements, 7 Gypsies metal key, ribbons, BG Origins chipboard and BoBunny embellishment pack. Others: TH ideaology stamp, Shimmerz, twine and blings.

I had so much fun doing this page. The kit literally scraps itself. I just kept adding layers of embellishments. I was able to use some leftover embellishments from previous kits and add ons.

BTW, the photo was taken a few weeks ago at Mall of Asia. Not much editing here. I was able to capture this look when I took a photo of Hannah walking around against the light. I set my camera to over-expose (since I am directly facing the light) so that the shadow part, Hannah, will be visible and will not look like a silhouette.

New Ride

Last year Hannah wished for a bike. My parents told me not to buy her one since she's too young. She wanted a bike for months and last Christmas, she received a surprise from her grandparents, a new BIKE!

But the bike in this layout is not hers. She received a cute pink one that is appropriate for her age. Instead, she wanted the big bike her 5yr old cousin got from my parents LOL. She rode it like a pro!

I have used My Scrapbook Nook's January kit for this layout. Played with stamping and misting here.

THANK YOU SO MUCH!

Happy Monday everyone!

First of all, I just want to let you know how much I appreciate every single one of you. Your support and encouragements made me realize that I chose the perfect hobby. Not only was I able to create pages to document precious memories but most of all, I met a lot of amazing people online, I gained friends.

Personally, I am not the social type. I rarely go out to meet with friends but since I started scrapbooking, I feel that I am part of a community. Honestly, I did not expect a lot of you will take their time to vote for me at Cosmo Cricket DT contest. There are so much talent in there. Those ladies are amazing. It is such an honor to have that opportunity with them.

After seeing the response on my Facebook page, my blogpost here and also those who personally added the link to their FB walls and groups, I feel that I am so blessed, I feel like a winner already. Thank you is not enough but from the bottom of my heart, THANK YOU VERY VERY MUCH!

I am loving everything that I am seeing there. The colors and the design are all so beautiful. Those DT girls will be so lucky to get the new releases.

3 ways to win (from the CC blog):

Well, the first is to be a really lucky commenter because we will pick one random winner to receive the line of their choice (by the way all the product will be in mid-February, so this shipment won't go out until then).

The next way to win is to be a really lucky Facebook Fan because we will pick one random fan to win the line of their choice!

And, the final way to win is to be nominated by your friends and family as one awesome person who would make a great addition to our design team. The top 10 people nominated will be featured here on our blog for you to vote on again. The winner of that vote will become the newest addition to our team for at least 6 months and they will also receive tons of Cosmo Cricket goodies including the new lines. Bold and Beautiful

All the hot pink in this NEW collection, Love Notes, by Kaisercraft is so gorgeous that I decided to add yellow in it. With the help of Kaisercraft’s ink pads, I altered a few pieces of the Love Song patterned paper and was able to achieve the colour combination that I wanted. Now, with 2 bold colours, everything pops!

“Joy” layout by LG Belarmino – Kaisercraft Love Notes Collection – Dedicate patterned paper (P603), Love Song patterned paper (P605), Adore patterned paper (P606), Dreamy patterned paper (P607), Promise patterned paper (P604), Together patterned paper (P608), Die Cuts (DC332), Printed Chipboard (CB120), and Foil Seals (EM944); Alpha Stickers (A216) and Mini Alpha Stickers (MA501 and MA504);  Others: artisan element, paint and border punches.

Aside from colours, I played with layering, paint and quilling here.

8.5 x 11 layout

Hi everyone! Sorry if I have been quiet lately. I still have this holiday hangover and I'm trying my best to catch up with all my deadlines. I will surely visit your blogs next week.

For today, I would like to share with you my first 8.5x11 layout of 2011 using the lovely My Scrapbook Nook January kit featuring Fancy Pant's Hot Chocolate collection. I must admit that I was intimidated at first since I really don't have too much Fancy Pants papers, this is actually my 2nd FP layout since I started scrapooking.

On this layout is a souvenir photo taken last month from 'Winter Funland' at Starcity (local amusement park). As you all know, we do not have winter here. The snow here is artificial and it doesn't come close to the real deal. I just love the idea that we had this photo taken.

"Winter Funland" layout by LG Belarmino - My Scrapbook Nook January kit - Fancy Pants Hot Chocolate Paper, Fancy Pants Border and Element Stickers, and Queen &amp Co Glitter Brads; Others: Cardstock, pearls and twine from a previous kit.

Love Notes by Kaisercraft

The Love Notes collection includes 7 double sided patterned papers, 2 specialty papers (one Foil and one Flocked). This collection also features Mini Journal Tags, Black Rubons, Clear stamps, Die-Cut Elements, Printed Envelopes and Foil Seals, and Printed Chipboard!

6 Double Sided Patterned Papers

EM943 Printed Envelopes

EM944 Foil Seals

PS132 Admirer – Specialty Paper Flocked

I love everything about this line. The hearts, the patterns and the hot pink are perfect for black & white photos. In my layout, I have used a recent photo of my 2 year old daughter. Behind it, I have also used a mini envelope but as a photo matte.  Like Leanne said, they are perfect for holding  hidden journaling.

“Adore” layout by LG Belarmino – Kaisercraft Love Notes Collection – Dedicate patterned paper (P603), Love Song patterned paper (P605), Affection patterned paper (P609), Adore patterned paper (P606), Dreamy patterned paper (P607), Die Cuts (DC332), Printed Envelopes (EM943), Journal Tags (JT612), and Foil Seals (EM944); Wood Flourishes Fancy Hearts (FL316) and Adore & Forever (FL320), Mini Crochet Doilies (EM955), and Black Pearl Flourish (PL518). Others: pins and heart gems.

January Nook Layout (part 1)

I am so thrilled to be scrapping again after the long non-scrappy vacation. Hannah being back to school made time more flexible. I miss spending the entire day with her but I love having my me time. I will definitely be scrapping more during weekdays.

Here is a layout that I finished the other day:

"Love You" layout by LG Belarmino - My Scrapbook Nook January kit: Fancy Pants Hot Chocolate papers and AC Thickers; Maya Road snowflake chipboard, cardstock, corrugated buttons and twine from previous kits; others: crochet doilies, pins and punches.

I have been experimenting with my style lately. I have always loved layering, dimension, and details but lately I love the simpler look but having the hard time accomplishing it. I love the styles of Susan Weinroth, Danielle Flanders, Kelly Noel, Stacey Michaud and Nancy Damiano. I just wish I can do and see what they do.

TOOT!!! 3 of my Nook November kit layouts are featured on Cosmo Cricket's blog today. Check it out here. How fun!
