Good day to you all!

I was playing with photoshop a few minutes ago manipulating some photos that I have on file. I think I edited over 50 photos already. And yes, I am having so much fun! I think I can't live without Photoshop, I have been using it for more than 10 years now.

Sharing some before and after photos:

Happy Friday to all of you!

Can you imagine? We're almost at the "BER" months meaning Christmas is around the corner. Are you planning for the holidays already? Thanksgiving and Christmas? As for me, I am quite busy preparing for moving to a new house that I have never thought or planned anything yet. Maybe next month :P

Anyway for today, I would love to share some photos taken last Monday. Me, my DH and my DD went to the mall to kill time while letting my baby try out some fun stuff at the kids playgym, it was her first time and boy she enjoyed it too much that she doesn't want to leave.

Then here are some photos of me, my DD and my DH at the mall too:

I can't wait to scrap these photos that day was really precious to me. Even though it was really tiring, we enjoyed every moment of it and seeing my baby having so much fun makes me really happy as a mother. She really had grown but still a baby.

Thanks for looking. I will post some random layouts that I did this week tomorrow.

Happy weekend!

Scrappin' Moms Idol 3: Round 6

I can't believe it, finally it's the last elimination round for Scrappin'Moms Idol 3. After this will be the live on-the-spot challenge for the remaining 10 finalists. I am so happy that I decided to participate on this event. i have definitely learned a
lot from it and most of all, I gained a lot of local scrapping friends.

So here is the last challenge before the finals:

This week, it is time to look at your inner self, recreate
the fantasy and ask the question…

If I were a Disney Princess…

#1 This week is a TECHNIQUE CHALLENGE.
- Use at least three (3) techniques on your layouts
- Choose any technique that you have always wante
d to try but haven't on a layout.
- Or if you have a technique you've always used, give it a
spin and mix it with other techniques in your layout.
- The minimum requirement is at least 3 techniques. You can add more if you want.
- The use of Hybrid Scrapbooking will be allowed.

#2 There must be at least one (1) solo picture of yourself in your layouts.
#3 Include a write-up on how you used/applied the chosen techniques in your layouts.

Criteria for Judging:
Originality & Creativity - 30%; Overall Design & Craftsmanship - 35%; Choice of Photo - 15%; Journaling - 20%

  • You may submit any size format but no lesser than 8.5 x 11
  • Photos for this challenge must not have been used in any previous layouts (both Local or International)
Here is my take:
For this particular challenge, my inspiration was from Belle of the animated Disney film "The Beauty and the Beast." Even though my favorite Disney film is "Little Mermaid," I can relate more with Belle in regards to her personality and outlook towards life. I was inspired to use the colors yellow and pink from the movie and was also inspired about the different characters from the film which represents different type of people. I was also inspired by the first song from the movie titled "Belle."

Photo Used: I have used a single photo of me taken a few years ago during a company Christmas Party with a theme of "The Ball."

Techniques Applied:
1. Sketching - I chose to use this technique because it has been ages since I last used my sketching skill acquired when I was still in school. I initially sketched Beast in an illustration board big enough to show that he is holding my framed picture
2. Painting - I used to love painting when I was still studying (more than 7years ago). Being a Fine Arts graduate, painting was one of my hobbies and I have joined and have won several nationwide contests (more on abstract). So with this challenge, I tried to incorporate my painting skill by painting the image that I sketched. I have used posterpaint and watercolor. I have illustrated and painted Beast from scratch

3. Doodling - this is a technique that I rarely used since I do not like to use pen so much. On this layout, I doodled the image that I painted to add more details to it and doodled on the alphas as well
4. Kinda Pop-Up Technique - I love to add dimension to my pages so I usually use a lot of foam tapes but on this layout, I added a "pop-up" effect on my cutout veranda by adhering the edges closer to each other that made the veranda look uplifted

5. Distressing - I distressed the sides of the yellow circle to add a spotlight effect on my layout.
6. Hybrid - I scanned some photos of some major characters from the movie "The Beauty and the Beast" and printed them out

Journaling: Like Belle, I am unique, strange & do not easily fit in but like Belle, I have a heart of gold. I do not easily judge anybody but befriend everybody. (Note: Journaling is written around the outer side of the yellow circle. I have used a blank ink to make it a silhouette journaling to add mystery to my layout)

Materials Used: Collage Press Diecut pp, PinkPaislee Vintage Moon pp, Prima Eire Collection pp, Felt frame, Illustration Board, posterpaint, watercolor, Webster storyteller Alpha, BasicGrey Brads, Flowers from local furniture store, Ranger Distressing Inkpads (tea dye and walnut stain)

Thank you very much for all your continued support and encouragements. Cross your fingers and wish me luck!

A Simple Layout

Good day!

It's been raining here in Manila for the past few days. With the rain, my mojo went hibernating. I wasn't able to scrap since Monday. I slept beside my mojo and scheduled my scrapping time tomorrow, Saturday.

I have so much to finish, a lot of stuff to do. I have a deadline for an entry to the last round of Scrappin Mom Idol on Monday, some DT layouts and challenges, and a surprise party to prepare for my brother who will be celebrating his 21st birthday on Saturday. Whew! I already got tired after listing all my assignments.

For the meantime, I would like to share a simple layout that I did for Pinoyscrapbooker's August Challenge set by Leica. here it is:

Title: Out of Town

The only requirement for this challenge is to use 3 photos with you in it. I have used a photo taken 2 years ago using an old cellphone, Sony Ericson k800i. I edited the photos to make sure the pixels are not visible after printing.

Before we got married, we loved oddball adventures. We travelled a lot. We enjoyed visiting different places and having so much fun along the way. These photographs were taken on our 2nd trip to Villa Lorenza last February 10, 2007. We visited the place once before but it felt a bit short and we couldn't really get to unwind as much. This time around, we stayed there for the weekend. We relaxed, watched movie, did karaoke, and of course...we swam like fishes to our hearts contest. Wish we can do that more often now, with Hannah tagging along.

Materials Used:
Mon Ame Memories July Kit and AC Thickers

Thanks for viewing.

Scrappin' Moms Idol 3: Round 5

#1. Create a HANDMADE "BOOK-INSPIRED" MINI ALBUM for this week.
- A book must inspire your theme for the mini album. It can be a children's book, collection of nursery rhymes, juvenile books (remember Sweet Valley High), adult romance books and a lot more.
- There is a wide variety of books/theme to choose from. Your imagination is the only limitation you'll have.
- The mini-album should be no bigger than 8x8 and no smaller than 4x4
- Include a write-up on your chosen theme/book and how this inspired your mini album creations

#2. The MINI ALBUM should be AT LEAST 6-pages EXCLUDING the front and back covers.
- Creativity and Originality will be a key factor when judging your albums

#3. Create at least three (3) A.T.C (Altered Trading Cards)
- The ATC must be included within the mini album
- Be creative in including the ATC within your mini album

What is an ATC?
An artist trading card (or ATC for short) is a tiny, original piece of art created with the intention of swapping or trading it with another artist, not selling it. The one rule an artist trading card must adhere to is the size. An ATC must be 2.5x3.5 inches or 64x89 mm.

Criteria for Judging:
Originality & Creativity - 35%; Overall Design & Craftsmanship - 35%; Choice of Photo - 15%; Journaling - 15%

For this Challenge, note the following requirements:
  • We will only allow submission of FOUR (4) PHOTOS for upload
  • Submit a photo with all your pages together including the front and back cover. "Stitch" your pages/spread if necessary to present a better view of your mini album
  • Photos for this challenge must not have been used in any previous layouts (both Local or International)
My Entry

Having a toddler makes me a children stuff lover. For this mini album challenge, I was inspired by a Children Mini-book titled Baby Animals by Alligator Books LTD. I saw this book from National Bookstore while looking for inspiration. I was immediately inspired by the huge images, the pullout cards, and the doodling. I imitated the minibook by using chipboard as my foundation (like the book), added a pullout for my ATCs, used big photos, doodled on each page, and did some weird cutouts on my base foundation.

I bound both sides of my mini using my Bind-it-all (never been used :P bought it a few months ago). The pages open up alternately and some pages differ from one size to another to make it unique and more complicated. My theme was a dayout with my baby and I used the title "7.27.2009" because all photos and the memory I preserved was taken that day.

Techniques Applied: handmade chipboard album, distressing, papercutting, doodling, painting, stamping, and layering

Materials Used: Cardboard, Bint-it-all, Orange Cardstock, Black Cardstock, Creative Imaginations pp, BoBunny Beau Jardin Harvest pp, BG Offbeat Informal pp, BG Ambrosia Mandarin pp, BG Ambrosia Marmalade pp, BG Offbeat Nonchalant pp, BG Ambrosia Tangy pp,BG Ambrosia Fresh-Squeezed pp, BG Ambrosia Chutney pp, Creative Imaginations Signature Collection pp, AC Thickers Chitchat Alpha Stickers, Pink Paislee Holly Doodle Alpha Stickers, We R memory Keepers White Out Rubons, Webster Lace, Prima Flowers, Chipboards, Dymo labeler, Tim Holtz Liquid Pearls, Ranger Distress Inks, Dew Drops, Colorbox Ochre, BG Ambrosia Bitsy Stamp, Transparencies

Yup! I am 29 today! Thank you to everyone who greeted me already. I am so much blessed to have great friends around the globe, a loving husband, a beatiful daughter and a loving family.

Nothing planned for today but to take this opportunity to sleep. Boring e? But that's heaven for me. No work for today, no scrapping, just pure sleep. i have been dying to do that for ages since I work 12hrs a day, scrap and take care of my family. What more can I ask for!

Also, got several blog awards from some lovely ladies:

from Monique

fromJay and Vicki

I would love to pass all these blog awards to all August Celebrants!
