Something different

Hi there! Happy weekend to all of you!!!

Lately I've been trying really hard to squeeze in some scrappy time despite my work schedule. I was able to create around 10 layouts last week and would love to share with you some that I did using Dear Lizzy line that I got from my DT kit at Scrapbook Deals 4 U.

This is quite different from what I am used too. I rarely do pastel colors as you have noticed. I just love color so much and all those earth tones. For this layout, i admit that I struggled a bit but after a few try, I kinda love using pastels now.

Here are some of the projects I did:

Photobucket

Cardstock: Bazzill
Papers: American Crafts Dear Lizzy
Alpha: American Crafts Dear Lizzy
Ribbons: American Crafts Dear Lizzy
Others:
Ranger Distress Ink Pad and Twine

Photobucket

I enjoyed this one because I just layered everything up and it went very well. So much yumminess and texture. I like!

I have more to share in the next few days. We'll see how well it goes with pastels. This is something I am looking forward to try for the longest time and now I'm doing it!

Thanks for dropping by!

Loving My Minds Eye

I was very excited when we were informed at the Nook message board that our April Kit will feature My Minds Eye Quite Contrary because I love that line so much. I just love all the patterns and the color combination MME is having lately.

So what better way to use this kit than trying some challenges over at MME's blog!

The Challenge: DREAM BIG! Be inspired by the song by Ryan Shupe and the RubberBand and use the sketch provided. Read more about it here

Here is my take:

This is a layout of my beautiful baby girl with her Aunt Grandma, Lola Fe. The photo was taken last April 3, 2010 during the Ruidera Clan Reunion. I just love this photo so much and it was perfect for the kit.

I enjoyed doing this layout and a lot of time adding color and dimension to my page. Here are the materials that I've used:

Cardstock: Bazzill
Patterned Papers: My Minds Eye Quite Contrary -Little Boy Blue
Alpha: Jillibean, October Aftermoon and Adorn It
Diecut: My Minds Eye Quite Contrary -Little Boy Blue
Sticker: My Minds Eye Quite Contrary -Little Boy Blue

I have used a lot of Shimmerz Paints on this layout and a lot of layering. I think I have added apart of each patterned paper from the kit on this one. Shimmerz Spritz was randomly sprayed on this page and on the photo.

And one more thing

My Niece

Got the chance to play with my stash during the week but I was able to finally take a photo of it today. I had been busy with work and guess what, I was requested to work for 7 days a week. STINKS!!!!

Oh well, I just wish I can squeeze in some scrappy time for the next couple of days.

So lets get it on since I am still at work :P

This layout was inspired by the new amazing community that I read from Iris blog, The Color Box. At first I was hesitant because I am just too busy lately and cant afford to spend time to other sites aside from my DT communities. But WOW, I was blown away with their site. Great inspiration and amazing designers. Totally amazing. Seeing their works just makes me want to scrap all the time.

So here is their 1st Color Palette Challenge:

Here is my take:

Photobucket

This was really a challenge to me since I am not a huge fan of pastel colors. Made it more challenging when I tried to differ from my usual linear style. It was fun doing this layout.

The photo of my cute 4yr old niece, Juliana, was perfect for the color scheme of their challenge. She looks so sweet in there. Love her to death!

Photobucket

Most of the materials I've used on this one is from YourScrapbookStash Store. The papers are the NEW line from American Crafts, LETTERBOX. I have also used their NEW Thickers BUMBLE.

Cardstock: Bazzill
Patterned Papers: American Craft's Letterbox
Alpha: AC Thickers Salutations and Bumble
Overlay: Hambly Screen Prints
Paint: Shimmerz Vibez (Sunset Strip), Blingz (Hottie Pink), Shimmerz Paint (Blueberry Cobbler)
Rub-ons: Kaisercraft and Pink Paislee
Felt and Flower: Prima
Others: Chipboard, Ranger distress ink and crackle paint, ribbon, gems and sticker from my stash

Photobucket

The background was made by putting a screen over the cardstock and sprayed with Shimmerz Vibez randomly. Love the effect of it on the overall design

Photobucket

The chipboard was covered with Distress Crackle Paint and was painted with Shimmerz Blingz

Thanks for dropping by! I apologize if you haven't seen me on yourblogs lately. Will try my best to drop by soon
