Here I have used an old photo of Hannah. I chose this photo because it will be great for the quote that I chose for my title because she looks uncertain. Putting the long title in mind, I decided to make a pretty simple layout and made my title the focal point of the page. I chose the patch-like pattern design so that I don't have to layer any more patterned papers. Isn't that paper just gorgeous?!
Inspired byt the August Sketch that I did for this month's kit, I rotated the sketch counter clockwise. I made a huge flower-like embellishment at the sides and added a few more cutouts from the other patterned papers that came with the kit. I will share this simple flower tutorial at ScrapThat! any time soon so stay tuned.
Here I have played with the different alphas that came with the kit. To highlight the important words from the quote, I used the bigger alpha by MME. Added a few liquid pearls, came with the kit too, to add some cool effects. Then I used the small alphas by BasicGrey for the remaining words.
Quick tip: If the color of your alpha is quite similar to the background, outline around each letters using a black pen to add dimension.
Finally, to balance everything, I decided to add some small embellishments at the lower right side of the page. I have added cutouts, small flowers and a bird chipboad (from my stash).
Thanks for looking! Stay tuned for a couple more! I'll be out from Saturday (Aug 1) to Sunday (Aug 8) with some family and friends to celebrate my 30th (:( sob sob) birthday. Get the chance to win a $20 GC from YourScrapbookStash.com from me by simply guessing my birth date. Leave a comment on this post by August 8 and all correct answers will be placed on a random draw. Start guessing!
Have a great weekend!
