ScrapThat! August Kit Reveal (part 2) and a Birthday RAK Giveaway

Sharing another layout that I did for ScrapThat! August Kit featuring Girls Paperie Paper Girl Collection.

Here I have used an old photo of Hannah. I chose this photo because it will be great for the quote that I chose for my title because she looks uncertain. Putting the long title in mind, I decided to make a pretty simple layout and made my title the focal point of the page. I chose the patch-like pattern design so that I don't have to layer any more patterned papers. Isn't that paper just gorgeous?!

Inspired byt the August Sketch that I did for this month's kit, I rotated the sketch counter clockwise. I made a huge flower-like embellishment at the sides and added a few more cutouts from the other patterned papers that came with the kit. I will share this simple flower tutorial at ScrapThat! any time soon so stay tuned.

Here I have played with the different alphas that came with the kit. To highlight the important words from the quote, I used the bigger alpha by MME. Added a few liquid pearls, came with the kit too, to add some cool effects. Then I used the small alphas by BasicGrey for the remaining words.

Quick tip: If the color of your alpha is quite similar to the background, outline around each letters using a black pen to add dimension.

Finally, to balance everything, I decided to add some small embellishments at the lower right side of the page. I have added cutouts, small flowers and a bird chipboad (from my stash).

Thanks for looking! Stay tuned for a couple more! I'll be out from Saturday (Aug 1) to Sunday (Aug 8) with some family and friends to celebrate my 30th (:( sob sob) birthday. Get the chance to win a $20 GC from YourScrapbookStash.com from me by simply guessing my birth date. Leave a comment on this post by August 8 and all correct answers will be placed on a random draw. Start guessing!

Have a great weekend!

ScrapThat! August Kit Reveal (part 1)

Happy Thursday!

I got so excited last Saturday when I received my ScrapThat! August Kit because I adore the featured collection so much. The kit features The Girls Paperie Paper Girl line with some Prima flowers and laces, MME Chipboard Alpha, BasicGrey Sticker Alpha to name a few. The kit is jam-packed with gorgeousness that will surely bring those mojos back.

A layout of me and my daughter Hannah walking hand in hand at Techno Hub after attending Lia's 1st birthday party last December 2009. The dress were from 2 different manufacturers but looks quite alike. We never planned buying identical clothes but this is just a coincidence, a good and precious one.

"Together" layout by LG Belarmino - Bazzill Cardstock, The Girls Paperie Paper Girl patterned papers, Prima Marketing flowers, Jenni Bowlin butterfly embellishment, Basic Grey Sticker Alpha, Kaisercraft Rub-on,  MME and BasicGrey blings,  Liquid Pearls and ribbon.

Flowers were hand cut from the Girls Paperie patterned paper. I layered them in a way to show dimension. I also played with the ribbon here by adhering it at the back of a circle punched patterned paper using the ruffles technique. Layered everything and it's done.

Thank you for dropping by! Make sure to check my other co-DTs works over at ScrapThat! Gallery.  Grab your ScrapThat! August kit NOW! Order here!

Kaisercraft Projects!

I am so excited to share with you some Kaisercraft projects that I made using the 2 New Collections - Up, up and Away and Lush.  This collections was released this month and I have to say that I am very impressed with the quality, the design, and the colors. The papers are perfect for everyday photos, the embellishments are fun to play with, and the colors are perfect, not too bold and not too bright.

Up, up and Away
Upon getting my hands on the Up, up and Away collection I immediately thought of trying a dimensional page using foam tapes. The photo was me taken at Tung Chung, Hong Kong. We were at the giant bronze Buddha located at the top of the mountain. My hair being blown away is just too perfect for the hot-air balloon images, does it look like I’m on the balloon itself? LOL

Layout “FLY HIGH” – LG Belarmino: Kaisercraft Up, Up and Away paper collection, Die Cut Elements (DC322),Clear Stamp (CS747), Rub On (RB869), Alpha Stickers Brown (AS225), Pearls Chocolate (SB792), and Foam Tape (T303)

To add dimension, I made several paper rolls using strips from the stripe patterned paper. I also punch a lot of small flowers from the same brown patterned paper that I used. By adhering the flowers with foam tapes, the illusion is just amazing. Got this idea from my co-DT at the Nook, Celeste Smith.

I did the same thing on the hot air balloons. I cutout the exact same image then used some foam tape to adhere them together.

Lush
It was really not hard conceptualizing a page using this gorgeous new collection from Kaisercraft. The colors were fun to work with, its not too bright nor too dull. I already made a layout using this photo of my nephew a few months ago but decided to create another one so that I can give it as a gift to him since the photo is perfect for this line.

Layout ”Remember 2 Always Smile” – LG Belarmino:Kaisercraft Lush Paper Collection, 6″x6″ Paper Pad (PP825), Clear Stamps Bubble Wrap (CS753), Lush Collection (CS746) and Dated (CS724), Lush Printed Chipboard (CB110), Lush Die Cut Elements (DC321), Lush Embellishment Pack (EM919), Alpha Stickers Black (AS226) and Tangerine (AS223), Mini Alpha Stickers Chocolate & White (MA503), and Pearls Chino (SB789).

2peas Top 3

It's always a great day to wake up seeing this :D Thank you so much to all of those lovely comments that I received from my Mini Me & You layout. You are all so sweet.

Butterflies and Shimmerz

I know you have read a thousand times already how much we adore the different products of Shimmerz Paints. This is because it is worth telling about! Shimmerz Paints add sparkle and shimmer to any project you want to create. It gives that special touch to everything you use it on.

Today I would like to share with you a very easy and simple 8.5"x11" layout that I did. Initially I illustrated a butterfly pattern that I would like to use on my layout. Then I used my scanner to scan the image and duplicated it on Photoshop creating different sizes. Lastly, I printed them out and individually cut my image. This is what  I used as templates for my background effect.

The traditional way of draw and cut would also be fine. Simply draw the silhouette of any shape you would like to use on any leftover paper and cut them out.

These butterflies are recyclable and can be used several times. It can be used as masking or a template to create embellishments. Don't limit yourself. Try out several patterns like leaves, birds, stars, etc.

Here is the layout that I finished using my butterfly templates:

More Nook July Kit Layouts

Happy Weekend!

Just dropping by to share with you a few more layouts that I did using My Scrapbook Nook's July Kit. It has been a pretty busy week for me because my 2yr old and 2mos baby just got accepted to Nursery last week. I have been busy preparing all documentations and requirements.

I am so proud of her! Most of her classmates are around 4 years old and she's the youngest. Despite her appearance and her age, her teachers were impressed with her communication skills, memorization and participation. She is quite advanced than most of her classmates. In fact, last Friday we were told that she will be considered as Nursery Level 2. YAY!

Anyway, here are more of my Nook DT layouts:

Hello Sunshine
I hope everyone is having a great weekend!

Posting today!!!

Happy Friday ladies!!!!

What a busy week for me WOW! Sorry if I have neglected my blog lately. I have been busy with creating projects here and there, work, and household stuff. I have been very productive tho. I finished 6 layouts and some cards and have been scrapping daily for the past week.

Here is a layout that I did using Cosmo Cricket's Delovely Collection that I got from YourScrapbookStash.com. At first I thought that the colors are too bright for me but after hearing a lot of good reviews about this line, I finally decided to get some  for myself. It did not disappoint me at all. This line by Cosmo Cricket is just G*O*R*G*E*O*U*S! I got the entire line with 20% off at YSS Online Store using the  June Coupon. Order yours now! Use discount code JULY2010 to avail of the 20% off discount from your entire order!

I remember the day when we took this photos of my DD Hannah. We were at SM North City Mall and saw this huge tarpaulins covering some areas that are under construction. The colors were vibrant and I immediately thought of the Delovely paper line. Took several photos and whala! Instant cute layout!

Materials Used: Background Paper-Basic Grey Basics Manila, Patterned Paper-Cosmo Cricket Delovely, Sticckers - Cosmo Cricket Delovely, Others - Distress Ink pads and MS Border Punch.

I decided not to add any other embellishment and only use the patterns from the papers as embellishments. I love handcutting these patterns, it relaxes me. The design is very simple and I love it!

Thanks for viewing. I hope you all have a great weekend! If you need some inspiration this weekend, checkout the Friday Sketch over at YSS Blog here! My co-DT Alyssa made this really fun sketch using a lot of circles.

Shimmerz Product Spotlight: PEARLZ

Shimmerz has so many great products: our original Shimmerz Paints, Spritz, Vibez, Blingz and one of our newest family members...Pearlz.

You may be asking yourself what exactly are Pearlz and how do the differ from the other paints. Pearlz are creamy, more opaque and pearlescent than our Shimmerz Paints or Blingz. Think a bit more class, with a little less sass. Pearlz is Blingz and Shimmerz Paints older and more refined sibling.

Take a look for yourself:

With 11 current Shimmerz colors and 5 Teresa Collins Signature Colors, you have a wide variety to pick from. Order them online from any of our retail partners or from our online retail store.
