BasicGrey + Scraplift Chain

Recently, I participated in a Scraplift Chain at My Scrapbook Nook which we have been doing for some time now. You can read the mechanics here. I love this type of challenges because you will never know what the main layout looks like until the reveal. It is interesting to see different interpretation and where each participant draw their inspiration. You can view the full reveal here.

Here's my layout:

SUPPLIES : [KISSING BOOTH] KIS-3550 Better HalfKIS-3566 XOXOKIS-3553 Dozen RosesKIS-3575 Die Cuts and Transparencies, KIS-3581 Layered Banner Stickers, KIS-3584 Blank Cards

I have used BasicGrey's Kissing Booth collection because it is perfect for that gorgeous photo of Hannah when she was invited to be a flower girl on my friend's wedding. The Dozen Roses patterned paper highlighted the event perfectly which I wrote about in the journaling.

It is not too often that I get to take a photo of my spouse because he always try his best to avoid the camera. That is why I am so happy to be able to capture this moment with him and my daughter. The journaling is about giving thanks to all he did for Hannah

Once Upon a Sketch

Once Upon A... Sketch has a new sketch challenge which has gone live today.

This is the new sketch and the journalling criteria

The journalling criteria for this challenge is to write the reason you chose to scrap this photo.
(e.g. to remember this moment, to remember someone, to send a message to someone, because this photo makes you smile, the photo shows a personal achievement, your child's milestone etc. etc. )

Your journalling can be any type i.e. handwritten, printed etc.. and as long as you wish it to be.

REMEMBER: If you are making a card or altered project you DO NOT need to include the journalling criteria BUT you MUST use a quote somewhere on your card or project.....

And this is my interpretation of the April 15th Challenge:
This is a fun sketch to play with. There are so much possibilities by simply flipping or rotating it. For my layout, I decided to do an 8.5x11 layout of my two best friends, my sisters

I have used Scrapbook Circle's Vintage Market kit on this collection. Everything is from the kit except for the doilies and buttons.

Mix and Match

Do you already have the new collections from Pebbles Inc? I do and they are all so gorgeous.

As part of my DT assignment for the new collection, I was asked to combine collections in a project. When I first received the Happy Go Lucky and Ever After collections, I immediately knew that this two lines will perfectly go together. With a great variety of designs and gorgeous embellishments, I was able to create a layout that is playful and cute at the same time

Pebbles supplies used: Happy Go Lucky Cheery (751080), Happy Go Lucky Delight (751086), Happy Go Lucky Happy (751091), Happy Go Lucky Embossed Stickers (732036), Happy Go Lucky Chipboard Flowers (747071), Happy Go Lucky Layered Embellishments (747073), Ever After Royal Garden (751106), Ever After Royal Garden Magical (751112), Ever After Royal Royal Banner (751115), Ever After Royal 12" Cardstock Stickers (732048), and Ever After Royal Ribbon (780008).

Other supplies used: Punch (EK Success)

Chanteuse

Words cannot describe how beautiful this collections is. The designs and colours are just divine. This line is perfect for preserving very precious memories like this one of my dad and daughter walking hand in hand. I am not the type of scrapbooker who journals regularly, but this collection inspired me to tell the story of my dad’s love for his granddaughter. Check out the entire collection here!

‘Simply Beautiful’ layout by LG Belarmino

materials: Chanteuse Collection – Vivo patterned paper (P640), Staccato patterned paper (P638), Soprano patterned paper (P642), Marcato patterned paper (P643), Mini Journal Tags (JT616), Paper Pad (PP840) and Printed Chipboard (CB125); Alpha Stickers Tiny Latte (MA511) and Black (MA513)
Others: Paint and Kraft Cardstock

TIP: Do not be afraid to experiment. On this layout, I have used watercolour to add some paint drips on my background. Apply a good amount of watercolour at the top edge of the paper, hold the paper upright, to let the paint drip down the page. If your paper gets a little soggy, you can iron it on a  medium heat and adhere it to a cardstock.

8.5 x 11 layout

Hi everyone! Sorry if I have been quiet lately. I still have this holiday hangover and I'm trying my best to catch up with all my deadlines. I will surely visit your blogs next week.

For today, I would like to share with you my first 8.5x11 layout of 2011 using the lovely My Scrapbook Nook January kit featuring Fancy Pant's Hot Chocolate collection. I must admit that I was intimidated at first since I really don't have too much Fancy Pants papers, this is actually my 2nd FP layout since I started scrapooking.

On this layout is a souvenir photo taken last month from 'Winter Funland' at Starcity (local amusement park). As you all know, we do not have winter here. The snow here is artificial and it doesn't come close to the real deal. I just love the idea that we had this photo taken.

"Winter Funland" layout by LG Belarmino - My Scrapbook Nook January kit - Fancy Pants Hot Chocolate Paper, Fancy Pants Border and Element Stickers, and Queen &amp Co Glitter Brads; Others: Cardstock, pearls and twine from a previous kit.

Merry Christmas!!!

30mins to go and it's Christmas here in the Philippines. Merry Christmas to everyone!!!

I was so busy for the past few days with last minute shopping, groceries, gift wrapping and all the food preparation that I neglected my blog. We just arrived from church after celebrating the mass with my parents and siblings. Let me share with you some photos that I took earlier.

And here is a holiday layout that I made using Pebbles Tree House collection. This is about one of our holiday tradition. Ever since I could remember, my parents dressed me up with something red every Christmas. According to my mom, this has been passed on from their grandparents. Now that I have a child of my own, I would like to carry on with this holiday tradition with her. With the Tree House collection, I was able to achieve a holiday look by using the classic Christmas colors, red and green.

  Pebbles supplies used:
Tree House Laughter (751025)
Tree House View (751027)
Tree House Chips (744114)
Red Glitter Candy Dots (744228)

Other supplies used:

another Christmas layout

Can you believe it? 12 more days to go and it's Christmas already! I know most of us are very busy with all the Christmas preparation. I am done with my gift shopping, and Christmas decorations now, I just need to printout all my Christmas tags and I am all set.

I am very busy lately with scrapping some Christmas photos from last year. I have so much photos back then that I wasn't able to scrap. Here is a page that I made using a photo of Hannah taken last year. I have also made a sketch for everyone to use.

"Our Little Santa" by LG Belarmino - My Scrapbook Nook December kit: MME's Holly Jolly patterned papers, diecut and chioboard. Others: :alpha, brad, twine, stickles and border punches

Having fun with mists!

Happy Monday everyone! 39 days before Christmas 2010!

Here is a layout that I made last week using Basic Grey's Christmas line, Jovial

"Joy" by LG Belarmino - BasicGrey Jovial patterned papers and embellishments, Maya Road Ribbon, October Afternoon stickers, and mists (Shimmerz, Tattered Angels and Maya Road) all available at YSS Online Store.

I initially started with a white 8.5x11 cardstock. Using different sizes of  circle templates, I started misting the paper background with the shades of red, green and teal. I did several layering until I am happy with my end result.

November 11, 2010

it has been a while

since I joined a layout contest/challenge. I have been so preoccupied with DT works, blogposting and work. I am so glad that I was able to create a layout inspired by American Craft's Layout Challenge. The challenge was to create a layout with a recipe on it using at least 2 American Crafts products.

Here is my take:

AC Products Used:
Letterbox Sir (35014)
Letterbox With Love (35011)
Letterbox Response (35028)
Letterbox Kind Thoughts (35027)
Backyard Twitter (44698)
Glittery Puffy Thickers Bumble (Pollen 43017)
Thickers Gift Box (42762)

Others:
Kraft Cardstock
Tag
Journaling Spot
Adorn It! Mini Alpha

This Buko Pandan cake is a local favorite recipe here in the Philippines enjoyed by many because of its taste and smell. Aside from a cake, buko pandan can be made into a fruit shake, desert or minatamis.

Pink??? Who doesn't love pink especially if you have an adorable little girl. I knew this collection would be perfect for my dear Hannah. I used the blocking technique for this page to emphasize the gorgeous patterns and texture of each of the patterned paper. Some of these papers have an embossed design which I really love.

Beauty Full Mess (Quick layout part 4)

Just a quick post for today before I go to bed.

When my dd was born, we thought that by 2 she will have a very long hair because she was born with lots of it. As she grows, we noticed that her hair did not grow with her. She has curly hair thus making the length look short.

On this photo, I trimmed her hair so that it will grow faster but unfortunately, I trimmed her bangs a bit too short thus making it look awkward. During these days, I hesitated to take photos of her :P, she might get mad if she sees it when she grows up. The photo on this layout was taken a few hours after I did the damage.

"Beauty Full Mess" layout by LG Belarmino - Materials: My Scrapbook Nook October kit and add on: Lily Bee's Catching Fall double sided patterned papers, Jillibean corrugated chipboards, BasicGrey Flower Bloomers, Jillibean pin packaging, Maya Road rose ribbon and BasicGrey and Jillibean Alpha; Others: kraft cardstock, film strip ribbon, brad and stamps.

DETAILS:

It was really a mess but a beautiful one because she still looks so cute. I incorporated this beautiful mess with the title and the design of this layout. I incorporated random stamping, layering and colors to emphasize my design concept.

Thanks for viewing!

Check this out! (Quick layout Part 2)

I was featured at Lily Bee's Friday Faves!

I know it's kinda late but I don't have any internet connection for the past few days that is why I just saw this.

It was really cool to see my layout there. It was one of my October Nook kit layout that I did last weekend. I emphasized on both Jillibeans corrugated embellishments and Lily Bee's Rub ons.

"Autumn Dream" layout by LG Belarmino - Materials: My Scrapbook Nook October kit and add on: Lily Bee's Catching Fall double sided patterned papers, Lily Bee Rub on, Jillibean corrugated chipboards, and Jillibean Alpha Stickers; Others: Twine and MME Banner stamp.

This layout was pretty easy to do. I finished this page in less than 45minutes. I learned that simplicity is beauty that is why sometimes, it is better to use less embellishments and focus on the overall composition.

Thanks for viewing!

Quick Layout (part 1)

 Hi there!!!

I am so thrilled to let you know that last Sunday I finished 5 layouts from 7am to 11am. That was a first to me since I am a very slow scrapbooker. That was also the most number of layouts I made in a day.

The Nook U finals inspired me when Leah posted a hourly challenge. The participants were fast and their creations were amazing so I decided to try it out. It was a perfect timing since I just received my Nook October kit featuring Lily Bee's Catching Fall line.

At first I was skeptical because we do not have fall season here in the Philippines, fall photos will be perfect for the kit. Instead, I have used everyday photos and just did a few photo editing to blend it with this month's kit.

"My Joy, My Life, My Family" layout by LG Belarmino - Materials: My Scrapbook Nook October kit and add on: Lily Bee's Catching Fall double sided patterned papers, Lily Bee Rub on, Jillibean corrugated chipboards and pin, Maya Road mini roses trim, BasicGrey flower bloomers and Lily Bee Catching Fall diecut. Others: stamps, kraft envelop, and Shimmerz paints.

I had so much fun with this layout. I have used the cardboard packaging of Lily Bee's Rub on and used it as my base paper. It was perfect since I have applied a lot of Shimmerz Paint on it.

Overall, this page was finished in less than 1hr, waiting for the paint to dry is not included.

a few more Kaisercraft projects...

Happy Monday! I hope everyone had a great weekend!

I was not productive last weekend because my work schedule was changed, Monday- Saturday. Now, I have to spend my Sundays with my family. We went to the mall, attended Hannah's last Fashion Show practice, went to mass and had a nice dinner at home. It was short but we had so much fun together.

Even though I wasn't able to scrap last weekend, I have a few Kaisercraft projects to share with you all. These are Holiday projects that I did for Kaisercraft's Holiday line released this month.

“Got this from Mom & Dad last Christmas” layout by LG Belarmino – Kaisercraft Be Merry paper collection (P558), 6×6 paper pad (PP829), Die Cut Elements (DC325), Rub Ons (RB876 and RB875), and Printed Chipboard (CB114). Core Product: Mini Alpha Stickers (MA502) and Tiny Alpha Sticker (MA510). Kaisercraft Rhinestones (Green and Red) and Chipboard Alpha. I adore these core products! It allowed me to create my personalized gift tags that I can use during the holiday season. It was very easy and convenient to use.

YSS Stash Faves

Have you noticed the NEW Pre-order items from the store?!  Oh my goodness there are so many new CHA products to choose from and for today's Stash Faves, I will be sharing with you a layout using  Pre-order Shimmerz Products. Being A Shimmerz DT gal gave me the opportunity to play with this amazing product for a few months now. Let me tell you about Shimmerz Paints:

ShimmerzTM water-based paints have the spunk and sparkle to help any project shine! They have a wide range of products from mists to paints that will surely make your projects shime like stars. By simply adding this product to your projects, you'll be able to create a project that you can call your own. Have fun, be imaginative and start creating with Shimmerz Paints available for pre-order at YSS Store!!!

Shimmerz Vibez get their name from their VIBRANT, DEEP COLORS that are INTENSE from the First Spritz....!

Shimmerz Pearlz are a little thicker and more opaque than Shimmerz Paints. Pearlz are perlescent while Shimmerz are iridescent. Pearlz have a luxurious feel. They are kind-of like a light cream consistency on paper. Shimmerz paints are more like a light body gel on paper. Do you follow?

Shimmerz Blingz are just like shimmerz only they have more sparkle and are a bit thicker . They have been called 'shimmerz on steroids.'

Here are some layouts that I did using Shimmerz Paints:

Shimmerz Vibez with Echo Park Patterned Papers and Doiley Hero Stamp available at YSS Store

Shimmerz Vibez, Blingz and Pearlz with Basic Grey Basics Patterned Paper and some Hambly Screen Prints available at YSS Store
