HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!!

It's 12am January 1, 2010 here in Manila and I would like to greet you all a very Happy New Year! Wishing everyone good health and success in this year.

So for my number 1 layout...

No.1
...you have to wait till February! lol! Because my favorite layout is due to be published on Scrapstreet's February issue. I chose that layout because the photo that I've used was overly sweet and emotional. I just fell in love with it.

Thank you so very much for being with me for the past year. I appreciate every single comment that I read from each and everyone of you. I never thought that I could gain so much friends from this hobby. You just don't know how much inspiration and motivation you have given me. I value all your friendship.

Happy New Year!

Made this layout May 2009 for my DT task at Creative Scrappers. Love! Love! Love this layout so much. I just love all the distressing on it and my first time using a corrugated board.

No. 4

No. 6 and No. 5...

No. 5
Made this layout August 2009 for a final challenge at Scrappin Moms Idol. It was an on the spot final competition. This layout is very memorable to me because it was also my first time to scrap outside my room with the pressure of the competition.

No. 6
One of my most recent layouts done a few weeks ago. I just love everything about this layout, the manufacturer (Cosmo Cricket), the colors, the handmade flowers that I learned from Calia's video tutorial, and the photos.

December 28, 2009

No. 8 and No.7...

No. 7

No. 8
Made this around May 2009 and was one of my first time using Sassafras Lass pps. Love the playfulness of this layout and the photo is too adorable. It was taken when we celebrated Hannah's 1st Birthday.

My Top 10 for 2009 begins NOW!....No. 10 and No. 9

It has been a year since I started scrapbooking and I am happy to say that I enjoy every moment of it. I never thought that I will develop such passion and love for this hobby. So far I have made around 150 layouts for 2009 and a couple of projects.

Since 2009 is near to its end, I decided to checkout all my projects and layouts for this year and list my Top 10 favorites. This will serve as a flashback to inspire and motivate me to continue and appreciate this craft. So for the next couple of days, before we hit the new year, I will post my Top 10.

So here are my number 10 and 9 spot:

No. 9
Made this layout March of 2009. This was my first published layout on an ezine and was invited to be published on Creating Keepsakes but unfortunately i missed the deadline. I included this on my list because I love the photo so much.

No. 10
This layout is very sentimental to me. I think this was my first decent layout when I was still a beginner, one of my initial attempt on scrapbooking. Made this February 2009 and have won several contests from this. This is why I included this on my Top 10 list.

Wow! Choosing only 10 from all my projects is really hard since each of it is really special to me. Just stay tuned for the next few days to see which will enter my Top 10 list. Thanks for dropping by!

Vacation Day 4: I am No.1!!!

I reached the No. 1 spot at TwoPeas both by views and by votes. I am so happy!!! Wipee! It is actually the first time that is why I am very very very excited.

Photobucket

Anyway, aside from that exciting moment that I have for Day 4 of my vacation, I spent the entire day with my DD. We just stayed at bed watching movies, eating popcorn, playing and ordering take-outs. The feeling was really incredible. I love spending time with my baby and these are the simple moments I would never forget.

I would like to thank Calia's video for the flower tutorial. It was hard at first but I get the hang of it after making 2 flowers. Thanks Calia! You're an angel. Click here to watch the Spiral Flower Tutorial.

It's Wednesday 11am here in Manila, will be back later for some update about my day 4 vacation.

Vacation Day 3!

I was able to sleep for 8hrs today and it feels great! I missed these days when I just need to lie down and relax because ever since I had Hannah, my sleep was reduced to 3-5hrs a day even on weekends. Having this time off is really worth it.

Aside from sleeping, I enjoyed watching the season 1 of Fringe. I am a TV series addict and have watched all seasons of:

1. Greys Anatomy
2. Desperate Housewives
3. House
4. Lost
5. Amazing Race
6. American Idol
7. America's, Britain's, Australia's and Canada's Next Top Model
8. Project Runway Philippines, America, Australia and Candada
9. How I Met Your Mother
10. Secret Life of the Maerican Teenager
11. Supernatural
12. all Survivor episodes
13. Private Practice
14. L Word
15. Prisonbreak
16. Mentalist

This are the only ones I can remember so far but I think I have forgotten a few more. Now that most of this series are on break and will resume on January, I am looking for a few more shows to watch. And Fringe is on my list, Im catching up with Season 2 Episode 10. Doing a marathon earlier.

What are your favorite TV series that would recommend? Still looking for more.

********************

I was able to scrap too and finished one layout but since I finished it around 7pm i cannot take a decent picture of it yet. Will share it with you tomorrow morning.

See you later, need to continue my Fringe marathon. Chow!

Vacation Day 2!

I am not referring to an out of town getaway but a time off from work. Yup, it's my 2nd day and so far I have made 2 layouts and 1 card. Exciting for me, e? LOL The reason I took this time off is so that I can catch up with my Christmas shopping, do some scrapbooking and spend more time with my family. I just love the idea of waking up in the morning and not worrying about work at all. And I am loving it!

The first layout that I made was the sneak peak that I posted yesterday. For today, I would like to share to you the other projects that I finished today. It's only 4pm here so Im hoping I can do at least one more layout.

YAY!!!

I am so happy because I do not have to go to work for the entire week. Yipee! Finally I have some me time! I have everything planned, I will scrap, scrap and scrap!!! I have purchased a lot of beautiful stuff for the past 3 months and now I am looking forward to using them. Hmmm where do I begin?

Oh yeah, my first layout is for the February issue of ScrapStreet. Unfortunately, I cannot post it until March 2010 but I will give you a sneak peak. I have used a very sweet photo of my DD with her Dad. I am so happy that I was able to capture this intimate moment.

Photobucket

This photo was taken last month while Hannah was asking her dad for something but he can't give it. Hannah cried because she was disappointed not to get what she wants. My DH hugged him and tried to explain to her why she can't have it.

Here is a sneak peak of the layout that I finished using this photograph. I have used my remaining September kit from My Scrapbook Nook featuring Pink Paislee's Amber Road Collection.

Photobucket

Thanks for looking. Expect more layouts from me this week! Hope all of you are enjoying this month as I am. HUGS!

December 9, 2009

busy, busy, busy

Good day!

Hope all of you are doing great with all your holiday preparations. As for me, I still have lots of things on my ToDo list. My December Dailies, Christmas gift shopping, gift wrapping and menu planning. December is quite a month, right? I just wish I can finish all of it before Christmas day comes.

I also have lots of scrapping stuff to do. I haven't scrapped for more than a week now because of work. Good thing I filed a leave the entire week next week. Yipee!!!! I need to catch up with my life outside of work and a lot of me time hopefully.

For now, I just want to post a layout that I did almost a month ago that I almost forgot to share with you all. It is a layout of my sweet Hannah using Sassafras Amplify collection.

Have a stress free week ladies!!!!

21 days to go

before Christmas and we are all excited!!!! Everything is almost done and we are just waiting for that day. In preparation for Christmas, we decided it is time already to let our little girl know who that big guy in a red suit is. She already knows how to identify things, people and places and we believe this it is a sign that she is ready.

We initiated it by making her see and feel Christmas. This is through decorations, greetings, Christmas songs and some photos. Then two days ago, while in the mall, I saw this Santa decoration almost as big as Hannah and decided to introduce him to her (I decided not to introduce a live, huge, Santa because he might scare her). I introduced them normally how people are introduced. Hannah shook its hand and started touching its beard and nose. She kept saying hi Santa, she even kissed it on its nose. So cute.

Unfortunately I do not have my DSLR with me so I wasn't able to take pictures and use it on this layout that I am about to show you. Instead I used a photo of Hannah taken during some Christmas dress fitting last week. I decided to use this photo because her facial expression looks like her being curious.

Materials: My Scrapbook Nook December Kit featuring Making Memories Mistletoe collection, added few things from my stash (MM Falala glitter alpha and Kelly Panacci's Santa Sticker)

Hope you love this layout as much as I do!!! I enjoyed making this and I love Hannah's expression on this layout. This is actually my 2nd Christmas scrapbook layout ever and I am so thrilled to use the Mistletoe collection by Making Memories because it's gorgeous and very inspiring. I do hope hope that this layout inspires everyone to start creating their holiday layouts.

I'm on PAGEMAPS

yup!!! I was invited by Becky last month to contribute a layout from one of her sketches for December Maps. She gave me a 8.5x11 Pagemap which is quite new to me but I gladly tried it out and made a layout that I will give as a gift to my friend Cherrie this Christmas.

Here is the sketch
Here is my example:

Materials: BasicGrey's Indian Summer Collection Pack, Chipboard and buttons. PinkPaislee Alpha stickers and AC Thickers ChitChat

Thanks for dropping by!

I would love to share a lot of things that is going on with me and my family but work is not permitting me at all. I am currently working 14hrs a day until December 8 including weekends, giving me less time to scrap and catch up with all your blogs. I was able to finish a layout earlier for my DT kit but before that I wasn't able to scrap for over a week.

So just hang in there and I will surely do some catching up with everybody by next week. Off to sleep! Nyt Nyt!

Baby Tantrums

I have never had any baby tantrums issue with my DD when she was younger that's because her daily routine was just sleep, eat and cry (not the annoying crying type) most of the day. But as she stepped the 1yr old mark some bad habits developed. She constantly cries when she wants something, her body gets stiffed when she's angry, she squeals like crazy and she hits me or herself sometimes.

It was driving me crazy.

I kept thinking when is the right time to start disciplining. How do I discipline a baby who doesn't speak and might not understand the words that I am saying.

Thank goodness I read somewhere that a reality show titled SUPERNANNY was highly recommended by Oprah so I checked it out. After watching one episode, I immediately learned that starting disciple as early as possible, even for newborns, is the best time to start. Jo Frost, the Supernanny, mentioned that we should not underestimate babies/children and we should start early because once they have developed some bad habit, it will be harder to correct.

So after watching several episodes, I have learned a lot of techniques that I can apply to my 1yr and 8mos DD. I love the TIMEOUT technique, the Bedtime Routine technique and the Eating technique. Everything worked after a few tries.

I was totally surprised how Hannah coped to all this disciplinary thing that we are doing. She totally understands what's going on. She listens to me. She is more sweet than ever.

She is quite bright than the other kids that I saw from the show. They hesitated to follow, they push their parents buttons to the max thus causing them more timeout minutes. Unlike Hannah who obeys, saying sorry immediately, who now knows how to say please when she needs something. And this coming from a 1yr old baby, not even a toddler. I am so proud of her.

So inspired by the Supernanny show, I made a layout using a photo of my baby crying like crazy a few months back when Supernanny was not yet in the picture. My journaling was about her different baby tantrums.

Photobucket

Photobucket

For this layout I have used GCD's new collection Arty Urban plus some flowers from my stash. I was also inspired by Pam's template.

Go check out Supernanny! I highly recommend it to all mothers out there because you can learn a thing or two about the proper way of disciplining your little ones.
